Together For Hospice, The National Hospice Movement represents 24 hospices nationwide and is introducing Your Finest Hour for Hospice for the first time in April 2025 to support local hospices to raise funds and support patients in our care.
We’re asking employers to bring the whole office together for just one wonderful hour to raise funds to support patients in your local hospice this April.
The concept is simple, employers are asked to give one hour of time to employees, on a date of your choosing throughout the month of April 2025. In exchange, employees are asked to donate an hour of their salary to the company’s chosen hospice.

Your Finest Hour For Hospice allows both businesses and employees to support their local hospice by simply donating an hour of your time. It’s an opportunity to take an hour out of our busy workdays to reflect and acknowledge what just 1 hour can do for your local hospice, whilst also appreciating the value and gift of time for yourself.
The hour your organisation gives to employees could look like gathering everyone for a pizza on their lunch break, or an hour of yoga – it’s up to you! Your event can be as simple as you like, the most important thing is that employees are treated to something special by the company in exchange for donating an hour of their salary to hospice.
The 24 Hospices nationwide that make up Together For Hospice, need to raise approximately €20million each year, with existing voluntary hospices receiving differing levels of state funding ranging from 58% state funded up to 90%. Some homecare services receive no state funding. Despite this, demand for services continues to grow and in 2023 alone, hospice and specialist palliative homecare providers across Ireland cared for over 14,000 patients and made over 87,000 homecare visits.
