Together for Hospice
Together for Hospice is the national fundraising body for 24 Specialist Hospice and Palliative Care providers in Ireland, including both in-patient and community services.
We vary in size and scale, from those with hospice facilities including an in-patient unit to Specialist Palliative Homecare services where nurses visit patients in their own homes from an acute hospital. Together for Hospice exists to support and enable these frontline services to fundraise collectively at a national level.
Our national fundraising campaigns, Hospice Sunflower Days and Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice have been raising funds in local communities across Ireland for over 30 years and every euro raised locally stays locally. In 2023, with your incredible on-going support, we raised over €2.8 million, and over the last 31 years we have raised over €62 million for local hospices.
Funds raised through national campaigns have contributed toward significant developments in the hospice sector.
Since 2015, 7 new hospice buildings have been completed;
St. Francis Hospice Blanchardstown in 2015
Kerry Hospice in 2017
Milford Care Centre, Limerick in 2018
Mayo Roscommon Hospice in Castlebar in 2019
Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Wicklow in 2020
Waterford Hospice 2021
Mayo Roscommon Hospice, Roscommon in 2021.
and 3 refurbishments completed;
Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Harold’s Cross in 2018
Milford Care Centre homecare base in Ennis in 2022
Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Blackrock in 2023.
These developments have allowed hospices nationwide to provide over 400 specialist palliative care beds, care for over 14,000 patients and make over 87,000 Homecare visits in 2023 alone.
With the population over 65 expected to triple over the next 30 years, local hospices need to continue to expand specialist facilities and homecare services.
That’s why in 2025 there are 5 hospice refurbishments underway, planning permissions submitted for 2 new hospices and 2 new hospices under construction.
These developments are testament to the on-going support of local communities for the local hospices that make up Together For Hospice, The National Hospice Movement.
Together, we will continue on our mission to ensure that everyone in every community has access to exceptional hospice care.
Every euro raised stays locally.
